Intesa Sanpaolo, the Company lowers the limit to 6,5%: "But that doesn't mean we sell"

The Compagnia di San Paolo has revised downwards the minimum limit that the foundation must hold in the transferee bank Intesa Sanpaolo from 7,96% to 6,5%. The decision was unanimously approved by the general council of the Compagnia di San Paolo, which thus amended the regulatory deed on the methods and criteria for managing the assets, now divided almost equally between the 9,7% stake in Intesa Sanpaolo and the other investments.

“There was a minimum ceiling on our stake in Intesa Sanpaolo – explained the president of the Compagnia di San Paolo, Luca Remmert – which was 7,96%. This means that from 9,7% we could go down to 7,96%. Today the ceiling has been raised to 6,5% with the aim of providing our assets with greater flexibility and greater responsiveness”. However, this "does not mean that we are reducing the stake to 6,5%", Remmert wanted to clarify, "it does not mean in any way that we have expressed the intention of reducing the stake in Intesa Sanpaolo".

Just over half an hour after the closing of the Stock Exchange, the Intesa Sanpaolo share loses more than 1% in Piazza Affari 2,25 euro.
