Intesa Sanpaolo acquires 40% of Swiss management company

Intesa Sanpaolo goes shopping in Switzerland. Reyl & Cie – the diversified Swiss banking group controlled by Fideuram Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking since 2021 – has acquired a 40% stake in 1875 Finance Holding, an independent asset manager for private clients based in Geneva. While the remaining 60% remains in the hands of the co-founders of the independent manager: Olivier Bizon, Paul Kohler, Aksel Azrac and Jacques-Antoine.

This partnership will allow Reyl & Cie (Intesa Sanpaolo) and 1875 Finance to "create income synergies and cross-development opportunities", reads a statement from the banking group. The acquisition (signed on 6 August) was approved by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority and the Commission de surveillance du secteur financier in Luxembourg.

On the one hand, Reyl will be able to strengthen its own activities private banking in Switzerland and internationally while 1875 Finance in the Swiss asset management and multi-custody market. Clients of which will benefit from Reyl's line of corporate finance businesses specializing in mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, equity and bond capital markets transactions, as well as fine art financing solutions.
