Intesa Sanpaolo has made an agreement with IBM for the adoption of innovative technological infrastructures that "will allow an evolution of information security and performance together with the reduction of consumption of the IT sector”, communicates the bank in a note, underlining how the 2022-2025 Business Plan provides for important investments for the optimization of the IT infrastructure, technological modernization, the introduction of cyber-security techniques and the creation of the new digital bank Isybank, with the aim of providing customers with the highest levels of performance, efficiency and security in the field of digital services.

Through the agreement with IBM, Intesa Sanpaolo will be able to “fully seize the opportunities offered in terms of hybrid cloud e artificial intelligence, which will allow a digitization thrust, open, flexible and secure and, at the same time, will contribute to a significant reduction of energy consumption”, continues the bank, emphasizing how the agreement will allow the modernization of the technological environment of Intesa Sanpaolo with the ibm z16 – designed with efficiency in mind to obtain greater performance with lower energy consumption – and will make it possible to reduce the energy consumption of this component of the infrastructure by approximately 20% and to help limit the environmental impact. The collaboration between the two groups also "lays the foundation for further developments, especially the preparation to help protect sensitive data and infrastructure from possible cyber attacks in a post-quantum future".
