Intesa Sanpaolo: the first Israeli – Italian Life Science Investment Forum in Tel Aviv

The international roadshow of the Intesa Sanpaolo Start-up Initiative made its first stop in Israel, the Start-up Nation par excellence, as part of the prestigious Israel BioMed Conference 2013, scheduled in Tel Aviv from 10 to 12 June.

Yesterday, with the first Israeli-Italian Life Science Investment Forum, the new phase of international expansion of the acceleration platform promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo was inaugurated, which provides for strategic coverage of the most important non-European markets for the global development of high-risk start-ups technology (first of all Israel).

During the Forum, 10 of the most promising Italian and Israeli start-ups in the Biotech and medical device sectors presented themselves to over 100 investors, corporates, incubators and accelerators of international standing. The event was organized in collaboration with MATIMOP, the Israeli government agency dedicated to promoting innovation through bilateral international collaborations for the development of advanced technologies, with which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in October 2012 in order to offer Corporate customers of the Group the opportunity to quickly access the most advanced technologies available on the market.

The meeting was aimed at promoting cross-border investments and technological exchange between Italy and Israel, in line with the international strategy of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group aimed at facilitating access to new financial resources for Start-Ups and increasing collaboration and the flow of know-how between the Israeli and Italian hi-tech industries.

Israel is considered, after Silicon Valley, the second world hub of innovation with the presence of about 300 research centers and over 4.000 technology start-ups.
