The new plan of Intesa Sanpaolo will be unveiled in mid-April and will contain a Roe target above 10%. This was announced by the managing director of the institute, Carlo Messina in an interview with Bloomberg TV in Davos, where he is for the work of the World Economic Forum.
"We will work on cost control - said Messina - the main objective is to increase revenues through the potential of our network". The Roe target above 10% should be achieved within 3/5 years. The figure for 2012 was 3,3%.
Intesa, said the CEO, already complies with the parameters of Basel III and will emerge stronger from the review of assets by the ECB. "The exercise must be strictly conducted in Italy, some banks will pass it easily, others with difficulty," concluded Messina.
