As part of the partnership between Enel and Intesa Sanpaolo to support innovation in the energy sector, promote the development of the Circular Economy and Open Innovation, Aton Storage, an Italian company active in the development and production of energy storage systems electricity from photovoltaic sources, received a loan of 1,5 million euros from the Banking Group to support its activities and, in particular, the recent initiative launched alongside Enel. In fact, Aton has signed a partnership for the all-Italian offer of batteries integrated with photovoltaics for residential customers, at competitive prices. Thanks to this agreement, the solar panels are transformed into a usable resource day and night, increasing the self-consumption of solar energy. The system developed by Aton specifically for Enel X is available in four sizes, to satisfy every consumption profile.

Aton – reads a note from Enel – is among the companies that have taken advantage of the program launched by Enel and Intesa Sanpaolo a year ago to support SMEs, nationally and internationally, by encouraging the development of supply chain projects. To date Intesa Sanpaolo has disbursed over 8 million euros in favor of the ecosystem. In particular, the SMEs and startups that collaborate with Enel in innovation projects, in addition to receiving technical and economic support from Enel, also benefit from financial support from the Banca dei Territori Division of Intesa Sanpaolo which, in this operation , participated through the Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Abruzzo and Molise Regional Directorate, led by Tito Nocentini. The partnership brings mutual benefits: for Enel it is a tool to complete the offer of support to companies with which it collaborates in innovation projects, while for Intesa Sanpaolo it represents a new way of supporting innovation in the industrial supply chains, making use of the expertise of its best customers for the merit evaluation of the projects

“The ecosystem of innovation and financial tools created thanks to the partnership between Enel and Intesa Sanpaolo – commented Aton's Chief Executive Officer, Ettore Uguzzoni – has allowed Aton to accelerate and direct its innovation efforts towards concrete results , thanks to a context in which it was possible to carry out supply chain projects and compete with the major international players. In this way, a great opportunity for economic and technological development is given to Aton and, in general, to all Italian SMEs".

“In Italy there are many innovative SMEs made special by the passion and tenacity of brilliant entrepreneurs. – said Ernesto Ciorra, director of the Innovation and Sustainability division of Enel. – Enel is a multinational with its head and heart in Italy, which works successfully with these companies and wishes to enable them to express their full potential. The partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo was born from this perspective, with the aim of providing SMEs with an ecosystem of technological, system and network, innovation and even financial tools, which allow these companies to develop and compete”.

“Our goal – commented Mario Costantini, General Manager of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center – is to encourage the transition of businesses and society towards sustainable models through Open Innovation and to be the growth engine of the new economy in Italy. The path taken with Aton goes precisely in this direction and I am very proud to be able to share it together with our partner Enel with whom we have been engaged for some time in the development of the ecosystem in Italy".
