The great event organized by Innovability in Rome: the future of the "Internet of Things" in the 2st century will be at the center of the XNUMX-day event

Internet of Things: Opengate Italia at Iothings Rome 2017

It is underway in Rome IOTHINGS Rome 2017, the autumn edition of the international convention organized by Innovability which deals with issues related to the Internet of Things; two days focused on IoT applications for large networks: energy, mobility, telecommunications, critical infrastructures, monitoring, protection and security of the territory in which Open Gate Italia, a consultancy firm specialized in Business Development and Regulatory Strategies, Lobbying and Communication has been present for years on the market in the ICT sector, will be among the protagonists with Laura Rovizzi, managing director and Gaetano Pellegrino, Senior Consultant of the company, both protagonists of the work session entitled 5G NOW – From trials to business.

Laura Rovizzi, moderator of the round table entitled "The roadmap for the diffusion of 5G networks: from experimentation to the creation of innovative services, strategic vision and critical success factors" states: "It is necessary for the country to invest in the launch of 5G in the coming months and in all the enabling infrastructures for the creation of new services based on the concept of the "internet of things". 5G is a promising technology that will make it possible to manage all the use cases of an interconnected society in a unique and efficient way, whether they are "narrow" bandwidth (sensors along the roads to reduce traffic and pollution), or such as video surveillance or applications that require the management and coordination of many intelligent objects such as the connected car. Many of the futuristic applications that we are talking about are actually already partially implemented or feasible today, but what is still missing is a language that will be possible with 5G. Its nature as a multi-service communication infrastructure (and not just for mobile telephony like the previous 3G and 4G) will make it possible to build that digital nervous system which will also allow for the development of innovation; just as electrification was the enabling factor in the last industrial revolution”.

Cajetan Pellegrino, Senior Consultant of Open Gate Italia who spoke as an expert at the table "5G and the IoT: the innovation that satisfies all services, from ultra-fast connections to machine-to-machine communication" focuses attention on the specificity of 5G : innovation. “To describe an innovative technology, capable of enabling new services and ensuring the continuity of the user experience in heterogeneous and complex situations – explains Pellegrino – the revolutionary scope of this new technology is fundamental. 5G aims at a communication that unites people with things and vice versa, making not only users interact but also millions of objects in a skilful mix of technologies that represents the future".
