Inter, last chance in Frosinone and Mancio is self-critical

The nerazzurri have the last chance to approach Roma but they must win in Frosinone, where the locals will sell dearly to seek salvation – Mancini, tempted by Zenit and perhaps Real, makes self-criticism for Inter's half-failure: “ To date I give myself a low mark: unfortunately we lost many points in the second round".

Inter, last chance in Frosinone and Mancio is self-critical

Last chance before raising the white flag. This is especially true for Inter, called to win to get a little closer to Roma, but also for Frosinone, engaged in a very tight and difficult to read fight for salvation. A very delicate match will take place at the Matusa (15 pm), in which the margin of error is practically close to zero for both teams. Of course, if the Nerazzurri hadn't lost against Turin, the premises would be decidedly different: last Sunday's defeat instead almost completely frustrated dreams of glory, so much so that many wonder if this could not have repercussions on future projects. The most debated topic in the Nerazzurri environment concerns Mancini, back on the gridiron after a period in which things seemed to have settled down. “To date, I give myself a low grade and it's about me, certainly not the players – the coach's words. – When you start a job you always think you can fix everything in a short time, but very often this is not the case. It will still take a while to rebuild, unfortunately we lost many points in the second round but I am convinced that we are on the right track”.

Strong self-criticism, a real godsend for Mancio's numerous detractors, who came to regret Mazzarri in order not to see him on the Inter bench anymore. An unthinkable scenario up until three months ago, when the Nerazzurri looked down on everyone and considered the Champions League a pure formality, increasingly concrete today, also in the light of foreign offers (we are talking about Zenit St. Petersburg but watch out for Real Madrid) who continue to flatter the coach from Jesi. Today, however, the priority is called Frosinone, a difficult opponent especially in Matusa's friendly basin, so far the scene of almost all the points collected in the standings (22 out of the 27 total). And if we add to this that Inter haven't won away from home for more than three months (6 January, 1-0 at Empoli) we understand how the match is anything but obvious, regardless of the technical differences between the two teams. Mancini has problems especially in defense, where the suspended Miranda and Nagatomo will be missing; the Nerazzurri 4-2-3-1 will thus see Handanovic in goal, D'Ambrosio, Murillo, Juan Jesus and Telles in defence, Medel and Kondogbia in midfield, Eder, Brozovic and Perisic in the trocar behind the lone striker Icardi. Stellone, forced to give up the suspended Dionisi, will respond with the usual 4-3-3: Leali in goal, Rosi, Ajeti, Blanchard and Pavlovic in the back, Frara, Gucher and Gori in the midfield, Paganini, Ciofani and Kragl in attack.
