Inter: fifth consecutive victory, 1-0 at Verona and is increasingly on the run

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - With a goal from Felipe Melo, the Nerazzurri took their fifth consecutive victory and lead the standings with full points with abysmal gaps on their rivals thanks to reverses from Roma and Juve - Once again Mancini's team wins (1 to 0 on Verona) with minimal effort and begins to savor the taste of the Scudetto

Inter: fifth consecutive victory, 1-0 at Verona and is increasingly on the run

The maximum with the minimum effort. Inter also beat Verona and continued their triumphant ride to the top of the standings. Now there are 5 consecutive victories and this means Herrera's record equaled (1966/67 season) but above all solitary escape in the league. It's not a team that charms the Nerazzurri, but they score points, lots of points. And the flurry of 1-0 (with this we are at 4 in 5 days) must be seen in a positive light: Handanovic in fact, after three years of overwork, is enjoying a season as an almost spectator.

“I'm especially happy with the points, the first games are difficult and all the teams are demonstrating it, even the better equipped ones than us – commented Mancini. – The game will gradually improve but it is good to remember that in Italy it is never easy to dominate”. In short, at the moment it's perfectly fine, on the other hand not even the most ardent Inter fans would have bet on such an en plein. And then there's the feeling of a spot-on transfer market, which continues to bear fruit game after game.

If Jovetic had been decisive in the first few matches, yesterday Felipe Melo took care of giving away the victory, demonstrating that Mancio, when it comes to choosing men, has nothing to envy to anyone. Even yesterday turnover reduced to the bone, as if there were fear of ruining a mechanism which, numbers in hand, is giving excellent results. Defense (net of Murillo's injury) and midfield confirmed, the only change from Verona is Ljajic for Jovetic.

However, the approach is soporific, so much so that many are starting to think about braking. The idea became more and more concrete at the start of the second half, when Verona came close to scoring through Sala, whose shot was only stopped by the crossbar. However, a minute later, according to the oldest law of football (missed goal, conceded goal), Inter went through. On the developments of a corner Felipe Melo stands out and scores 1-0, giving Mancini his first real smile of the evening.

From then on it's a substantial management of the match, marred only by a shot from Siligardi (rejected without too many problems by Handanovic) and by some too much waste from the Nerazzurri forwards. The result is another three points for Inter, now threatened only by Fiorentina who, moreover, will be next Sunday's opponents.

An unexpected big match, which will say something more about the real consistency of the team. In the meantime, however, Mancini is enjoying himself and with him the entire San Siro crowd. Who, for the first time since Mourinho, is truly dreaming of the Scudetto again.
