Inter, Milan and Roma debut with goals

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - The Milanese and Roma respond strongly to the initial victories of Juve and Napoli - Inter liquidate Fiorentina by 3 to 0 with super Icardi and with the same result Milan beats Crotone - Roma conquers Bergamo folding by 1 at 0 with Kolarov the insidious Atalanta.

Inter, Milan and Roma debut with goals

Milan and Rome are there, and how if they are! After the victories of Juventus and Napoli, here comes those of the Nerazzurri, Rossoneri and Giallorossi, testifying to a championship that promises to be much more balanced than past ones and difficult to read. The two "debutants" Spalletti and Di Francesco got off to a good start, as did Montella's new Milan: and next week it will already be time for Roma-Inter, a match that will give important indications on the real ambitions of the two teams. Heavy victories for all three but perhaps those of the Nerazzurri and Giallorossi are worth a little more: a question of opponents (Fiorentina and Atalanta are superior to Crotone) but also of modality. Because the Milan match went downhill after just 2': a foul by Ceccherini on Cutrone, a penalty and a red card (decided by the Var). Kessie's 1-0 thus brought the Rossoneri onto the right track and when Cutrone bagged the 2-0 with an expert header from a centre-forward, Montella was able to put the 3 points in his pocket (18'). Suso's third goal (23') only rounded off a result that was never really in question, embellishing a victory that increases optimism and consensus, all with a transfer market in the home stretch (medical visits today for Kalinic) which could, perhaps , still give away a big shot.

“I liked the approach to the race – commented Montella. – If we want to become a winning team, however, we have to improve in management ". The AC Milan coach is happy, just like his Nerazzurri colleague. Spalletti wanted a good victory to start his Inter adventure in the best possible way and they satisfied him, all under the eyes of the 50 thousand at the San Siro. Here too the match started well right away: in the 6th minute Astori fouled Icardi and the Argentine himself made no mistake from the penalty spot, giving him the lead. In the 15th minute the unleashed Maurito doubled again, this time with a header, to reaffirm the Nerazzurri's superiority over the Viola, authors of an overly submissive start which in fact decided the result. In the second half, Fiorentina could also have reopened the game but after Veretout's post, Inter's third goal came, this time with Perisic (79') closing every conversation. “I am very satisfied with this debut but I don't want to talk only about me, the players determine the results – Spalletti said. – This team has quality and strength, we have to work on some aspects but we need to be confident”.

The Certaldo coach knows that in this way he will be able to better prepare for next Saturday's match in Rome, where he will face his former team, also with full points. In fact, the Giallorossi have cleared the insidious field of Bergamo with a not indifferent test of maturity, especially after a not very convincing pre-season. A goal by Kolarov from a free kick (3') was enough to take the 31 points from Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, after which Roma managed the match even if in the final a sensational post by Ilicic a few centimeters from the goal could have changed the things. That wasn't the case and now the Giallorossi can look to the future (namely the match against Inter) with much more confidence, perhaps hoping that Monchi can pull some rabbits out of his hat in the final days of the transfer market. “I had asked for a test of character and the boys responded brilliantly – Di Francesco's analysis. – This is a field where very few won last year, we can still improve in many aspects but I saw the right spirit of sacrifice from everyone”. First day with all the big names with full points, with important and convincing victories: no, we definitely won't get bored...
