Inter-Milan, Curva Nord open for the derby that is worth a season

Looking at the start of the season, it would seem that Inter are favourites, but the latest results would instead favor Milan. Both will then lack the quality of the midfield: the Nerazzurri are forced to do without the newfound Alvarez, while the Rossoneri are deprived of captain Montolivo.

Inter-Milan, Curva Nord open for the derby that is worth a season

In the end, common sense won out. The derby of the Madonnina number 280 (the 181st in Serie A) will be played, as they once said, "in front of packed stands". The Federal Court of Justice has in fact decided to reopen the Curva Nord, thus bringing the Milanese derby back to normal. Choreographies, cheering and, why not, teasing will thus be an integral part of a San Siro that has been sold out for days, despite the crisis of Inter and Milan.

In fact, what we will see tomorrow will certainly not be the most glittering derby in history, given that, just ten years ago, the clubs in question even played each other in a Champions League final. But Inter-Milan is still a fascinating match, full of history, charm and unpredictability. Impossible, this time more than ever, to make a prediction, because the teams arrive at the match with their respective strengths, but above all with a load of still unsolved problems.

Looking at the start of the season, it would seem that Inter are favourites, but the latest results would instead favor Milan. Both will then lack the quality of the midfield: the Nerazzurri are forced to do without the newfound Alvarez, while the Rossoneri are deprived of captain Montolivo.

Nor should the corporate aspect be underestimated, given that revolutions in this sense are underway on both sides. Drastic that of Inter, which hopes to celebrate the first victory in the championship of the new president Thohir, more muffled that of Milan, which however sees a change of the Galliani-Lady B guard looming on the horizon that is difficult to predict at the beginning of the season. Everyone will be present in the stands: the Indonesian tycoon (“I can't wait, I want to win!” His statements), and the two Rossoneri managing directors (as well as vice-presidents).

Whatever happens, it will be a historic evening, but also quite important for the continuation of the season. Both play a lot of their respective goals: Inter must win if they still want to rock the Champions League dream, Milan must do the same to attempt a very difficult, but not impossible, climb up the standings. In short, all in one night, then the holidays will come (for those who have won of course) and, above all, the transfer market.

The Milanese will play a lot in this sense, as demonstrated by the maneuvers that have already been underway for some time. And if Milan has moved concretely (the purchases of Honda and Rami are official, the loan of Niang to Montpellier has been closed), Inter has certainly not stood by and watched. Guarin is very close to Chelsea, and the sale of him could finally bring the long-awaited reinforcements invoked by Mazzarri.

The frenetic eve of the derby is then enriched by a new chapter: Berlusconi and Seedorf would have reached an agreement for next season. The Dutchman would thus become the new coach of Milan, but only from June. First there's a season to play, and a lot of it comes from the derby. What can I say except “lights at San Siro”!
