Inter better than Roma but it's equal and today Milan-Lazio

Everything remains open for the third place that counts in the Champions League: the Nerazzurri play better and score through Perisic but Roma recover through Nainggolan – Sabatini announces his farewell to Roma at the end of June – Milan and Lazio seek revenge with benches at risk in case of failure: Mihajlovic is the main candidate to sit on the Lazio bench next year.

Inter better than Roma but it's equal and today Milan-Lazio

Everything like before. The 1-1 draw between Roma and Inter leaves the standings unchanged as does the race for third place, which today could indeed see Fiorentina as a protagonist again. If the Viola manage to beat Frosinone (15 pm) they will move up by 2 on the Nerazzurri and just 3 points behind the Giallorossi, a scenario that would make the championship finale even more exciting. In short, the games remain open to everyone, including Inter. Because if it's true that it would have been better for Mancini to win, it's equally true that a team comes out of the Capital refreshed by a very good performance, ready to do battle until the last day. Paradoxically, it is Roma who come out a bit downsized, if only because they have not been able to eliminate a direct competitor from the Champions League race: third place remains firm, God forbid, but from the point of view of the game there was a step backwards. “We lost too many balls, we weren't good at managing the match – confirmed Spalletti. – After their goal, however, we managed to react well, when we dare like this we can get any result". The great news of the Roma world, however, comes from Sabatini, who formalized what, to tell the truth, had been in the air for some time. “I asked Pallotta to terminate the contract on June 30 and he accepted – the revelation of the sporting director. – I was very clear and transparent, but now I'm only thinking about finishing the season well: there's still a lot of work to do”. Mancini is decidedly more satisfied, although the draw leaves his team still far from third place. “We are in the race, let's not forget that we have the direct confrontation in favor – his thought. – This is not a random point, we managed to play the game and control Roma. The only regret is not having scored the second goal but I'm satisfied, anything can still happen”. It had to be a show and a show it was. On the other hand, it was already understood that Roma and Inter would have faced each other without fear or excessive tactics by reading the formations. Mancini opted for a very offensive 4-2-3-1 with Brozovic in midfield, Biabiany, Ljajic and Perisic in the front line behind Eder, Spalletti responded with a 4-3-3 with Salah, Perotti and El Shaarawy in attack and Dzeko on the bench. Facts rewarded the former's choices, so much so that Inter played an excellent first half against a so-so player from Roma. The Nerazzurri's greatest conviction translated into the opening goal in the 53rd minute: a great through ball from Brozovic for Perisic and a sharp left foot past Szczesny. Down by a goal and with his back to the wall, Spalletti tried everything: Keita out, Dzeko in with a consequent return to 4-2-3-1. And so Roma started playing the game, forcing Inter to duck to protect Handanovic. The Slovenian goalkeeper first saved on Dzeko (on the occasion there was a handball by Miranda, there was a penalty), then he thanked heaven when the Bosnian himself "fired" in the corner from an excellent position. It seemed like a sign of fate, but in the 84th minute Nainggolan's equalizer arrived, ironically served by Dzeko again by mistake.

This evening it will be the turn of Milan and Lazio, engaged in the second act of this curious confrontation between the capital and the Lombard capital. At San Siro (20.45 pm) there isn't much play in terms of standings, yet this match is a red dot for both teams. The Rossoneri cannot fail again after the missteps with Sassuolo and Chievo, the Biancocelesti must cancel (or at least try to do so) the European fool with Sparta Prague. Needless to say, it is above all the coaches who play a lot, after all used to living on the grill. The rumors put Pioli at very high risk of exemption (Simone Inzaghi is ready to lead the team until June) and, ironically, Mihajlovic is the first candidate to replace him next season. “These are things that you say – Sinisa sneered in front of journalists. – I still have a year on my contract and I'm happy to be at Milan, then clearly we'll see at the end of the season." “If these are the results, it is clear that a coach must examine his conscience – admitted the Lazio coach. – But I'm not throwing in the towel, I want to finish the championship well with pride and professionalism". In short, there is a lot of meat on the San Siro "grill" but only one, at the end of the evening, will be able to go home full. Milan would appear to be favourites, if only because they were able to calmly prepare for the match while Lazio played in Europe. Mihajlovic also finds Montolivo, an important element for his midfield, and a Luiz Adriano in better conditions than in Verona. In the 4-4-2 Rossoneri we will see Donnarumma in goal, Abate, Zapata (Alex is not feeling well and will go on the bench), Romagnoli and Antonelli in defense, Honda, Montolivo, Bertolacci and Bonaventura in midfield, Bacca and Luiz Adriano in attack. Pioli will respond with a rather unscrupulous 4-3-3: Marchetti between the posts, Lulic, Mauricio, Hoedt and Braafheid in the back, Cataldi, Biglia and Parolo in the midfield, Candreva, Matri and Felipe Anderson up front.
