Inter show at San Siro that wins by goals (7 to 1) humiliating the former Gasperini's Atalanta, so far the revelation of the championship. With this sensational victory, Inter climbs to fourth place in the standings, awaiting the postponement between Lazio and Turin. On the contrary, for Atalanta the defeat is very hard but a bad day cannot erase the good things Gasperini's team has been able to do so far.
Everything was resolved in less than half an hour during the first half which finished 5-1. A hat-trick from Icardi (a goal from a penalty) and two goals from Banega (who will score the third in the second half) conceded decided the race. Atalanta was only able to score the flag goal in the first half through Freuler.
In the second half the music didn't change and before Banega's last goal the former Gagliardini scored, thus scoring his first goal since arriving at Inter in the winter transfer market.
Now Inter are starting to hope not only to enter Europe but even in the Champions League area, if Rome and Naples lose a few points along the way.
