Inter, Gasp attacks referees and press like Mou, but if he doesn't beat Novara he risks being fired

The Nerazzurri coach imitates Mourinho and attacks everyone, but if he doesn't win today he risks being on the bench – Curiously, the Portuguese too has lost the magic touch and in Spain he collects defeats against Real

Inter, Gasp attacks referees and press like Mou, but if he doesn't beat Novara he risks being fired

Since he arrived at Inter, they keep talking to him about him, the unforgettable leader of the Nerazzurri hat-trick, who is almost an institution in Appiano Gentile and whom the fans clamored for on Saturday evening as well. This must be why yesterday afternoon, in what could have been his last press conference (it's not a "gufata" but a fact) Gian Piero Gasperini decided to transform himself into Josè Mourinho, or at least he tried.

Away with the classic ladies' aplomb with which he had so far commented on the disappointing Nerazzurri results, here is the typical defiant air of the unforgettable Portuguese. The first target, ça va sans dire, are the referees: “There have been heavy episodes over which he has been put over a pitiful veil. The matches against Palermo and Trabzonspor would have ended differently”. The second objective, in perfect Mou style, is the journalists: "In the media, there is always a little more malice towards us, but I don't stoop to answering those who only throw mud". Reporters accused also in the continuation of the conference: "On the incriminated episodes it was preferred not to say anything, so that's okay - joked Gasp, who then threw yet another jab stating that "If the results had been different, even the judgments of the press they would change."

All that was needed was for him to speak of "Intellectual prostitution" (by now it is a separate sentence and must be written strictly like this), then someone would seriously begin to think that Setubal's hombre was on stage. The football system is the third and last objective, but indispensable for the complete mourning of Gasperini: "Our performances didn't deserve so few points, but it's nobody's fault, let's not think of something murky...". Macabre irony, which reminded someone of the famous "Bassiamo i toni" (here too there is copyright) in response to Galliani in February 2010.

In short, given that the results in Appiano have been missing since Mou left, Gasperini will have seen fit to recall him to give new stimuli to a team that seems almost empty. As in the Portuguese's time, the recriminations are at least questionable: with Palermo it is true that there was a penalty (with Migliaccio sent off), but it is equally true that Samuel was sent off, against Roma there could have been a penalty for Inter in the final, but how would it have gone if Lucio had been thrown off in the 16th minute of the first half for football in Stekelenburg? Trabzonspor's goal was offside, but the defeat was so embarrassing that no one dwelt too much on it, and not because of "media malice".

In the meantime, tonight Gasp is playing everything in Novara (“Silvio Piola” stadium, 20.45 pm), but today we are mainly talking about his statements, just like in Mourinho's time. Mission accomplished then? Not exactly. Because to complete the work, Gasperini will have to imitate the Portuguese on the pitch as well, winning tonight's match without too many problems. Otherwise the controversy card would become a sensational own goal. And Mou's ghost would have engulfed yet another Inter coach.
