Inter-Fiorentina, the advance that is worth the high rankings

Tonight at San Siro both the Nerazzurri and the ex Pioli's lilies want to repeat their recent victories: whoever wins conquers (in the case of Inter) or consolidates (in the case of Fiorentina) a place at the top of the standings

It's championship again. Not even time to archive the fifth day and it's already time to think about the sixth, scheduled between tonight, tomorrow and Thursday. An important midweek match, which will have its climax in today's San Siro match between Inter and Fiorentina (21pm).

High-altitude match, between those who are recovering a place in the part that counts in the standings and those who, surprisingly, have occupied it since the beginning of the championship. Both teams come from two convincing victories, albeit very different from each other: the Viola's on Spal was comfortable and never in question, the Nerazzurri's on the Sampdoria field was vibrant and with a photo finish.

"We want to score more points and fix the standings but it won't be easy - Spalletti's analysis - Fiorentina are a very good team, plus they have a good coach like Pioli who I know well and one like Chiesa who knows how to crack all tactics . But we too have these things, as well as a full stadium and high-quality players."

It goes without saying that a victory would be of great value for Inter. Things, already sorted out after the successes with Tottenham and Sampdoria, would definitely return to their place and the team, perhaps, would find the definitive consecration to aim for the top. But as Spalletti said, it won't be easy, because Fiorentina will be up against the championship, at least so far.

“We're happy but we haven't done anything yet – Pioli glossed over – Now we've become a team, we'll go to Milan to play for it and give our best, knowing that up front we'll find an Inter built to make the Champions League and get closer to Juve”.

On paper it is an open game, in which the details could make the difference. Among these there is certainly the turnover, inevitable in such a busy period, which the coaches will have to maneuver in the best possible way.

Spalletti, forced into the stands after Marassi's expulsion (“I'm very sorry for this decision” his comment), seems oriented towards a 4-2-3-1 with Handanovic in goal, D'Ambrosio, De Vrij, Skriniar and Asamoah in defence, Vecino and Gagliardini in midfield, Politano, Nainggolan and Perisic supporting lone striker Icardi.

Pioli, on the other hand, should respond with a 4-3-3 with Lafont between the posts, Milenkovic, Pezzella, Hugo and Biraghi in the back, Benassi, Veretout and Gerson in the midfield, Chiesa, Simeone and Pjaca in attack.
