Inter makes poker against Frosinone and conquers the primacy in solitude

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - The Nerazzurri asphalt Frosinone with four goals (including one, highly anticipated, from Icardi) and conquer first place in the standings in complete solitude - Mancini begins to believe it: "We can have our say for the Scudetto" - And on Monday next to the San Paolo the big match between Naples and Inter that could give a change to the championship

Inter makes poker against Frosinone and conquers the primacy in solitude

A poker for the primacy. After many 1-0 victories, made up of so much solidity and little show, Inter obtains a round and convincing one, albeit net of an opponent that is anything but transcendental. Poor Frosinone seen at San Siro proved to be, as expected, the perfect victim to "unblock" the attacking vein of the nerazzurri, finally capable of giving their fans a binge of goals. The 4-0 final is worth the fourth victory in a row and, above all, the top of the standings alone.

“We're happy to be up there but the championship is still long – Mancini glossed over. – I still believe there are better equipped teams than us, I'm talking about Naples, Rome, Fiorentina and Juventus, but of course if we're good we can have our say too ". The Nerazzurri coach is not going too far, just in case he will do it next Monday after the big match at the San Paolo against Napoli, a real test (for both of course) with a view to the Scudetto.

Meanwhile his Inter continue to win and not concede a goal, a positive trend that has continued for 4 games and which is worth the prize for the best defense in the championship. Fundamental data in Italian football: as it happens, Napoli and Fiorentina, despite having very efficient back departments (Reina has conceded only one more goal than Handanovic), are forced to chase even if they have much more prolific attacks. Since yesterday, however, Inter have also rediscovered the feeling with the goal.

The 4 scored against Frosinone represent the roundest score of the season and, perhaps, it is no coincidence that they arrived with a very offensive formation, much more than Mancini had hinted on the eve. No 4-3-3 with Brozovic and Perisic but 4-2-3-1 with Biabiany, Jovetic, Ljajic and Icardi up front. Many mouths of fire = more dangers: the "Mancinian" equation proved to be correct. Stellone's men held out for just half an hour, then collapsed under the Nerazzurri avalanche.

It was Biabiany who unlocked the match, good at rebuking Leali's clearance on Ljajic's shot (29'), after which everything was easier. The most eagerly awaited goal from all of San Siro came in the second half when Icardi, after a duet with Ljajic, scored from a few paces just below the Curva Nord (53'). Down by 2 goals and with morale under its heels, Frosinone went unbalanced without any criteria, leaving Inter plenty of space.

And so the Nerazzurri were finally able to put on a bit of a show by finding two more goals: the first with Murillo (87', served very well by Jovetic), the second with the newcomer Brozovic (92', another assist from Ljajic). "I'm happy for having scored more than usual but I'm even more so for the 3 points," says Mancini, whose thoughts can now turn to Sarri's Napoli.

A very delicate away game for San Paolo, against a team that hasn't lost in 15 games and that in the last month, between the league and the Europa League, hasn't conceded a single goal. Next Monday we will see a real clash at the top, between two teams that can no longer hide their tricolor ambitions.
