Inter and Mancini: it's a divorce. De Boer the new coach

The wedding is over. After weeks of rumors (many) and denials (few) Inter and Roberto Mancini have decided to separate. The news is not yet official but there are no more doubts: the coach from Jesi will no longer lead the Nerazzurri team. In his place, barring sensational twists, Frank De Boer will arrive, for some time in Erick Thohir's sights and ready to sign a three-year contract as soon as the break with Mancini is defined.

The parties are already negotiating the severance pay (we are talking about 2 million, just under half of what he would have received up to June 2017) also because, it must be said, time is running out. Inter find themselves in the unenviable position of changing coach less than two weeks before the start of the championship, moreover with the final rush of the transfer market upon us. De Boer won't make revolutions (his formation is 4-3-3, more or less what Mancini expected) but he will have to settle quickly in a football he doesn't know, learn a language from scratch and adapt to a built squad from another.

There are many risks but the club no longer seems to have any doubts: Leonardo and Prandelli, the other candidates for the bench, are well behind the Dutchman. So Mancini's second experience with the Nerazzurri ends badly and the causes, it should be stressed, are not attributable to the new ownership. In fact, the breakup was with Thohir, from whom the coach from Jesi would have expected greater support and involvement in everything, from the extension of the contract to the market choices. The Indonesian president, for his part, didn't like Mancio's constant "stomach aches", which were also publicly expressed, and even the summer results (above all the 6-1 win from Tottenham on Friday) certainly didn't help.

This hot Sunday in August also saw the end of another market catchphrase, the one relating to Paul Pogba. “The player has received authorization to carry out the usual medical checks – wrote Manchester United on its official website. – Now we are waiting to formalize his transfer from Juventus”. “It's simply fantastic that such a player is with us – confirmed Josè Mourinho immediately after winning the Community Shield (2-1 against Ranieri's Leicester, Ibrahimovic's decisive goal). – We finally have him, he arrives in a winning team and he will have to work hard to find space ”.

It's difficult to think that a player costing 110 million doesn't have a guaranteed place but these, in any case, will no longer be problems for Juventus, who have long since resigned (and perhaps, given the record figure, even been satisfied) at the Frenchman's departure. In this crackling summer on the transfer market, Milan's time may have come, but they are forced to deal with a great paradox: not being able to spend almost anything despite the arrival of a new million-dollar property.

Yes, because until the closing (not before November) the investments would be up to Fininvest and this does not seem willing to finance what, in fact, is no longer its own. Galliani, in his last transfer market as chief executive (Marco Fassone will arrive in his place), will however be able to play the card of loans with an obligation to buy, provided that the new ownership backs them. In this sense, the meeting with the entourage of Badelj, the Fiorentina midfielder very welcome to Montella, for whom 8-10 million will be offered (the contract expiring in 2018 could help), but also the never dormant interest for Sosa (he has been ready to leave Besiktas for some time) and Cuadrado, the latter a true great dream of the Rossoneri coach.

The Colombian costs a lot (25-30 million) and will only be able to arrive on loan with an obligation to buy (unthinkable for Chelsea to lend him for free like a year ago) or, alternatively, after an excellent transfer. Bacca and De Sciglio are eligible candidates, with Milan preferring to sell the former and the market which instead seems to offer more possibilities to the latter (Juve and Napoli have been thinking about it for some time)
