Inter is already post-Stramaccioni: here are all the candidates for the bench

At the Nerazzurri, there is no secret of the fact that trust in the former Primavera coach is absolutely fixed-term, and thoughts are already being given to a successor – Bielsa seems to be the favorite for June, even if Villas Boas is Moratti's favorite – The Blanc hypothesis remains standing and the name of Walter Mazzarri appears.

Inter is already post-Stramaccioni: here are all the candidates for the bench

For now there is Andrea Stramaccioni, but who will sit on the Inter bench in June? This is the question that has been echoing in sports bars throughout Italy since this morning and to which we will try to give an answer. Bearing in mind that we are in March and that the transfer market is still far away, let's try to draw up a bag with the eligible candidates for the hottest bench in the country. The one on which Massimo Moratti, since his inauguration as the Nerazzurri presidency (1994/95) has seated 19 coaches, with the 20th (Stramaccioni in fact) who is preparing to do the same. He will find a difficult situation, exasperated by the mistakes made after the treble, when Mourinho said goodbye to everyone to go to Madrid. Since then (May 2010) 4 coaches have passed (Benitez, Leonardo, Gasperini and Ranieri), 5 including Stramaccioni, who is only preparing to act as a ferryman, even if in his heart he harbors a small hope of reconfirmation. In short, a soup of different tactics and working methods, which have confused players (but this does not remove their responsibility, on the contrary) and fans. Who are now anxiously awaiting the end of this cursed season, to start thinking about the next one, which will necessarily have to be that of the revolution. Hoping only that Moratti, this time, will choose the right coach, whoever he is.

BIELSA 30%

BECAUSE YES'
He is certainly the favorite to become the next Inter coach, Marcelo Bielsa known as "El loco", the madman. Already last summer the Argentinian was very close to the Nerazzurri bench, but then the deal fell through because Bielsa did not want to go back on his word previously given to Athletic Bilbao. An almost incomprehensible gesture then (at least for us), quite logical today when the Basques amazed the world of football by eliminating Manchester United from the Europa League. Bielsa also collects important sponsors within Appiano Gentile: Zanetti and Cambiasso are his great admirers. But the true lover of the "Loco" is Massimo Moratti, struck by the game played by Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford. In recent years, the president's "crushes" have been many (Ronaldo, Baggio, Vieri, Mancini, etc.), almost all of which ended well (aside from Messi, which was impossible even for him). Marcelo Bielsa is warned.

WHY NOT
The nickname "Loco" was not assigned to him by chance. Marcelo Bielsa is an extravagant technician, but above all a very particular man, one capable of rejecting Inter for Athletic Bilbao, resulting in the renunciation of a multi-million salary. The Argentine's unpredictability must always be taken into account, as well as his absolute need for autonomy at work. Bielsa does not allow interference, not even from its president. Can you imagine him with Massimo Moratti? Finally, there is another contraindication: El Loco is the anti-media par excellence, not because he's obnoxious, just extremely shy and reserved. Not exactly ideal for the Inter centrifuge (Trapattoni dixit).

VILLAS BOAS 20%

BECAUSE YES'
Andrè Villas Boas teases Massimo Moratti a lot, who has always admired the Portuguese, ever since he worked (as a tactician) alongside Mourinho. Last summer the president tried to snatch him from Porto, but the 15 million release clause blocked everything. But now, thanks to Abramovich, the problem is gone and Villas Boas is free from any contractual constraint. In favor of the Portuguese then, there is the consensus of the locker room, which has never forgotten that red-haired boy who knew his opponents like no other.

WHY NOT
The bankruptcy at Chelsea has aroused more than one perplexity in the Inter top management. Villas Boas had tactical problems (his football encountered many difficulties in England) but above all in group management. The senators of the Blues (above all Lampard and Drogba) have never accepted the ideas of this coach and in the end they managed to get rid of him. Chelsea's dressing room wasn't easy, but Inter's is no different. The cost of the operation shouldn't be underestimated: Villas Boas earned 5 million net a year, Moratti could get something lower, but more or less the figures are the same. Not quite in line with Financial Fair Play.

WHITE 15%

BECAUSE YES'
The current France coach has always enjoyed Massimo Moratti's sympathy, ever since he was bought to replace Bergomi. Laurent stayed in Milan for only two years (1999 - 2001) but he impressed everyone with his great professionalism, as well as for his football proficiency. The Frenchman then worked well at Bordeaux, where he won 4 titles (2 championships, 2 super cups and 1 league cup), which led him to the most prestigious bench, that of the national team. At the helm of Les Bleus, Laurent Blanc has faced a difficult challenge in the best possible way: rebuilding a group devastated by the 2010 World Cup, that of the general mutiny in Domenech. Two years later, the coach accomplished his mission, qualifying France for the European Championships. An excellent job, which has not gone unnoticed in Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

WHY NOT
Blanc's contract is about to expire at the end of the European Championships, but he has always said he wants to renew it. He will depend on the federation and in this sense it is difficult to make predictions, because a lot will depend on the outcome of the Polish and Ukrainian campaign. At the moment, however, the French consider it probable that Blanc's contract will be renewed, and he would remain at the helm of Les Bleus until the 2014 World Cup. Moratti should wait until the end of the European Championship and then (eventually) take him to Inter. Not the best for those who want to start planning for the future now.

MAZZARRI 15%

BECAUSE YES'
It's no mystery that Inter like Walter Mazzari, on the other hand with the results obtained at the helm of Napoli (but also of Reggina and Sampdoria) it would be difficult not to find him interesting. The Tuscan technician comes from 3 very intense years in the shadow of Vesuvius, in which he gave all of himself. Were the call from Inter to arrive, Mazzarri would hardly say no, also because certain trains only pass once and Walter has a mad desire to jump on board.

WHY NOT
It will be trivial, but Mazzarri is under contract with Napoli. In football we know this means nothing, but with De Laurentiis things change. Already last year the Tuscan coach tried to free himself from Naples (Juve wanted him), but he didn't succeed. De Laurentiis and the city forgave him, this time it would not be like this. But the choice does not depend only on Mazzarri; even at Inter there are some who turn up their noses at his name. He too, like Gasperini, lines up the defense at 3, a game system that never changes and that didn't exactly give good results in Milan. Difficult that on the Nerazzurri side of the Naviglio they want to repeat the experiment

PRANDELLI 10%

BECAUSE YES'
The coach's work is there for all to see and deserves no further comment. Prandelli has always been under the lens of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, who appreciates his style (never over the top) and football expertise. The coach would then be ideal for the development of some players never fully expressed, like Pazzini or Ranocchia, who instead have an excellent performance in the national team.

WHY NOT
Blanc's discourse is the same: waiting for Cesare would mean giving up immediate planning. Furthermore, compared to the French coach, one more problem would arise: Abete would not like it. And these days, Moratti needs anything but a diplomatic case with the Football Federation. And then, are we really sure that Prandelli wants to leave the national team before a World Cup?

GUIDOLIN 5%

BECAUSE YES'
Casting him at the wheel of a big car has always been a great temptation for Moratti. Francesco Guidolin's work is very popular, also because it is carried out without great economic pretensions. Do they sell him Sanchez? He launches Torje and brings Udinese back to the Champions League zone. Who knows what he could do with some extra money available…

WHY NOT
Needless to deny it, it would be a huge risk. He doesn't have the winning palmares, doesn't have the right appeal in front of the press and fans, maybe he doesn't even have the personality to resist the "intercentage of Inter". Is that enough for you?

WEALKS 5%

BECAUSE YES'
We will eventually see this. Of course, if you want confirmation, Stramaccioni he will have to play his cards in the best possible way between now and May 13th. Should he reach third place in the standings we would witness a sporting miracle, then Moratti could really bet on him.

WHY NOT
There are many reasons, we choose two: the young age (36 years old, 2 less than Zanetti) and the lack of experience. If he doesn't bring Inter to the Champions League, he will return to lead the Primavera team. As long as the interregnum doesn't bring him a few benches among the professionals.
