Inter: freeze the deal for Eto'o and win the Tim Trophy. Europa League: Lazio fly, Rome ko.

by Francesco Bonfanti – The negotiation for the sale of Eto'o becomes complicated: 6 million between Inter and the Russians – The Nerazzurri win the Tim Bari Trophy over Juve and Milan – Europa League: Roma defeated (0-1) in Slovakia, overwhelming (6-0) Lazio at the Olimpico – Leonardo wants to steal Kakà from the Rossoneri

ETO'O – ANZHI, BREAKTHROUGH: THE NEGOTIATION IS FROZEN

Twist in the negotiation for Samuel Eto'o's transfer to Anzhi. At the end of another day of passion, the cold shower has arrived, and what now seemed like a simple formality risks becoming considerably more complicated. The day passed between meetings and indiscretions, but in the end the long-awaited white smoke did not arrive.
Inter technical director Marco Branca had lunch with the Anzhi executives, a meal which was supposed to sanction the definitive agreement with the Russians, but which instead did not lead to any concrete conclusion. The parties tried to smooth out the difference between the Nerazzurri's request and the Russian offer, but the proposed 24 million euros did not fully satisfy Moratti's club. Because the problem is the same as yesterday: the distance between Inter and Anzhi. The Russians went so far as to offer up to 24 million, while Inter won't budge from the 30 million request. There would also have been some hitches on Eto'o's contract, in particular on the amount to be paid to him upon signing.
Around 16 pm the twist happened, when the Russian delegation (made up of Anzhi consultant Vlado Lemic, Predrag Mijatovic and Claudio Vigorelli, Eto'o's attorney) left the hotel, also having their suitcases loaded onto a taxi headed for the airport: “Right now I'm not optimistic – said Peppino Tirri, one of the mediators of the negotiation -. There are several things to fix. Nothing has been fixed. The negotiation is currently frozen, and I'm not at all optimistic. For now everything is still: the negotiation is closed for today and we will talk about it tomorrow ". Samuel Eto'o was in Milan, but did not participate in the meetings between the two companies, leaving the task to his agent. The footballer waited for the outcome of the talks until lunchtime when he decided to leave the hotel by car, after the medical visits scheduled in Rome had also been cancelled. His lawyer, Alberto Ziliani, carried documents under his arm, probably the documentation to formalize the transition to Anzhi. Documents that for the moment are back in the safe, because after a day like today, anything can still happen.
In the evening, then, the news arrived of the presence of Diego Forlan's agent, Daniel Bolotnicoff, in Milan. An important signal, because Inter still want to protect themselves from unpleasant surprises, and have identified the ideal replacement in the Atletico Madrid center forward. Assuming that, at this point, the Eto'o negotiation really ends.

JUVENTUS FOLLOWS PEROTTI, BUT COATES AND ALEX ALSO REMAIN IN THE SIGHT

Juventus on a mission for Diego Perotti. Sevilla's Argentinian full-back, engaged in the Europa League preliminaries against Hannover, will have an extra spectator, a Juventus observer who will sit in the stands to assess the player's qualities. The Andalusians do not seem willing to deprive themselves of the midfielder but an important offer could give the decisive shock to the negotiation. The alternatives Elia and Farfan remain standing, but Conte doesn't dislike the Cerci idea either, just as the hypothesis that in the end the Bianconeri can bet on Giaccarini, who did so well in the last season with the Cesena shirt.
In defense the courtship of Chelsea's Alex continues. Juventus have asked for the Brazilian with the loan formula, but the coach of the London club, Villas Boas, is not convinced of the proposal as he would like to collect cash to then go and get his protégé, Rolando del Porto.
Another hot name for the backlog is that of Sebastian Coates, a 20-year-old Uruguayan promise from Montevideo's Nacional. He costs between 8 and 10 million euros, but the young age and the fine words expressed about him by the ex Paolo Montero are two prerequisites to take into consideration for Juve to make an effort to grab what in South America is considered a future champion.
One step away from the official transfer of Alberto Gilardino to Genoa, Fiorentina may already have found a replacement. It would be Amauri who would go to purple and return to the negotiation for Juan Manuel Vargas. Marotta would be willing to offer 12 million for the Peruvian plus the forward, now on the sidelines of the Juventus club. However, Parma still won't let go of Amauri, who gave up on Floccari because they would like to bring the Brazilian back to the Tardini.

DI BENEDETTO WANTS TO GIVE OSVALDO TO LUIS ENRIQUE

On the day of the long-awaited "closing", Roma can finally concentrate on the market without thinking about a negotiation (that of the transfer of ownership) now happily official. And then under with the transfer market, to give Luis Enrique the required players. The first name on the list is that of Osvaldo, the Italian-Argentine striker at Espanyol, who is the star of a true thriller today in Barcelona. In fact, Espanyol had two training sessions scheduled, but Osvaldo didn't show up either in the morning or in the afternoon, causing the club's management to go into a rage. The former player of Atalanta, Lecce, Fiorentina and Bologna seemed very close to Atletico Madrid, orphaned by "Kun" Aguero. Osvaldo expressed himself very positively about his move to the "Colchoneros", above all considering the fact that Diego Forlan could leave for Milan, on the Inter side. However, Roma forcefully entered the negotiation after Luis Enrique insisted with Sabatini to bring him to the Giallorossi. The other striker that Roma are following is Hernandez from Palermo, currently an alternative to Osvaldo. Hernandez (who at the moment, however, Palermo deems non-transferable) surpassed Nilmar, deployed yesterday in the Champions League preliminary with Villarreal shirt, which will prevent him from playing in Europe until January.
But Roma must also think about defense: the hot name is that of Simon Kjaer, which could already be made official in the next few hours: Roma are putting 2 million euros on the plate for the loan from Wolfsburg, with the right to buy out already set at 8 million euros for June.
Today, meanwhile, Erik Lamela landed in Rome. The arrival of the young attacking midfielder, who missed the summer holidays to prepare for the start of the championship, has been agreed with the Giallorossi club who will undergo medical tests on the player's ankle, injured during the Under 20 World Cup in Colombia.

MILAN BEWARE: LEONARDO WANTS KAKA' AT PSG

The dream of bringing Kakà back to Milan risks staying that way. Not only, as Adriano Galliani has been repeating for several weeks now, because economically the operation turns out to be if not impossible at least very difficult, but because Leonardo's PSG has shown interest in Kakà in the last few hours. The new general manager of the Parisians would like to further strengthen his new team, and to do so he would be thinking precisely of Kakà, a player over whom he has a particular influence, since in the summer of 2003 it was Leonardo himself who convinced Kakà to wear the shirt of the Milan, preferring the Rossoneri to the many European teams that had their eyes on him. After all, Kakà seems destined for another season as substitute in Madrid, and for this very reason he is looking around. As already mentioned, returning to Milan is complicated, also because, in addition to the free loan from Real, Kakà himself would have to agree to lower his salary, and in any case even this would not be enough because it would still cost too much for Milan. It is much easier to think of closer players, Montolivo above all, who has been linked up with Milan for weeks and increasingly distant from Florence. In the next few days, Galliani will try to understand if Viola is willing to sell him by lowering the initial demands, i.e. 10-12 million euros, an assessment judged disproportionate for a player expiring in June 2012.
