Inter, Thohir's night blitz: Mazzarri sacked, Mancini returns

The decision came in the night – After a year and a half of dullness and excuses, Roberto Mancini returns to the Nerazzurri bench, who won three league titles (one of which at the table) between 2004 and 2008.

Inter, Thohir's night blitz: Mazzarri sacked, Mancini returns

Walter Mazzarri is no longer the coach of Inter. In his place will come Roberto Mancini, former coach of the Nerazzurri, with whom he won three championships (one of which at the table), from 2004 to 2008, always missing, however, the European consecration that only came with Mourinho.

The decision to dismiss (the first in the career of the coach from San Vincenzo) came during the night, and would have been taken by Erick Thohir himself. After weeks of clarifying meetings and renewed but conditioned trust, the turning point has therefore come, which puts an end to a love that never really blossomed. In a year and a half, even less, Mazzarri's Inter won over anyone, from fans to commentators, passing through managers, collecting only an infinite sequence of false starts.

Once again this year the start had seemed promising, and Mazzarri's Inter were considered a possible competitor to be accredited as the third force behind the hare duo Juventus-Roma, ready to take advantage of a season that was born high in "his" Naples . But this year too, just like last year, after the 7-0 against Sassuolo which seemed to open the doors to the new Nerazzurri grandeur, Inter wrapped up, revealing themselves for what they are: a jumble of unexpressed young players, players on the avenue of sunset and half stars (Guarin, Hernanes) in mysterious but constant involution. Without even the romance of the old guard anymore.

Now the nerazzurri languish in mid-table, between Udinese (and Milan, just to compose the image of Milanese football decay) and Verona, and look from below, in addition to the leading trio, also the Genoese and Lazio. To raise it, the new name (so to speak) is that of Roberto Mancini, who would have been convinced by his former president, that Massimo Moratti who sacked him after the Scudetto won in Parma, thanks to a brace from Ibrahimovic.

More than a heated soup, however, Mancio, to date, looks like a prince charming in the eyes of a depressed environment from a year and a half of dull and nerveless Inter. Worse than Mazzarri (who is not the only culprit, and not even the first one, of the Nerazzurri's difficulties), the fans will think, he certainly won't be able to do.
