Intel: Krzanich new CEO, farewell to Otellini

Brian Krzanich replaces Paul Otellini at the top of Intel. The new CEO, who has been in the technology group since 1982, was chief operating officer since last January. Otellini, who has been CEO and 40 years with the chipmaker for eight years, had anticipated that he would leave his post as well as the board later this month.

The board of directors also chose Rene'e James as the new president. James had held various positions within the group, including the leadership of the software division.

The market doesn't seem to like Intel's choices: the stock lost 1,25% in the pre-market. Intel shares have lost 18% in the past 12 months. The group recently published its accounts for the first three months of the year, which showed a drop in profits of 25% and revenues of 2,5%.
