Institutional Investors: Intesa, Poste, Starace and Messina awarded

Three CEOs and three Italian companies in the Institutional Investors ranking which selects the best managers and the best companies for each sector - Banca Generali wins in financial services, Intesa for banks, Poste for postal services

Three Italian managers (Francesco Starace, Carlo Messina and Gian Maria Mossa) and three Italian companies (Intesa Sanpaolo, Poste Italiane and Banca Generali) at the top of the European ranking compiled by institutional investors, publication that every year collects the results of a survey conducted among around 1.200 respondents including financial analysts and institutional investors, representing over 500 companies.

The CEO of Enel, Francesco Starace, takes first place in the ranking of managers in the utility sector followed by Ignacio Galan (Iberdrola) and Luis Guerra (Edp). The number one of Intesa Sanpaolo, Charles Messina, conquers the first step of the podium in that relating to the banking sector, according to Gonzalo Gortazar of CaixaBank, third José Antonio Alvarez of Banco Santander. 

As for the other sectors, in the ranking that rewards the best CEOs, CFOs and managers, there are Carlos Tavares (Peugeot) for the automotive sector and Herbert Diess (Volkswagen) in second place. In the oil sector, the top positions are held by the CEO of Repsol, Josu Jon Imaz, Ben van Beurden (Shell) and Patrick Pouyanné (Total). 

Company level Intesa Sanpaolo won first place in the 2020 ranking for Investor Relations compiled by Institutional Investor. In addition, the bank led by Carlo Messina was included, together with Moncler, in the list of "Most Honored Companies" for the quality of relations with investors and ranked first among European banks for ESG aspects.

General Bank ranks first in financial services, being the most voted "most Honored Bank" in the "small & mid cap -specialty & other Finance" category. First position also for the CEO Gian Maria Mossa which was the most voted in its segment overtaking the CEO of Euronext –Stephane Boujnah- and the n1 of the German fintech Hypoport.

Among the best companies in Europe, Poste Italiane excels as a postal service provider, while other segments include Airbus (France), Lonza Group (Switzerland), Schneider Electric (France), Nestle (Switzerland), Unilever (Netherlands), Allianz (Germany), JCDecaux (France ), Repsol (Spain), Poste Italiane, ASML Holding (Netherlands) and Cellnex Telecom (Spain).
