Inps, tax visits to private employees: the new availability slots are on the way

More news coming for tax visits. The number one of INPS Tito Boeri fears the possibility of intervening with a further change, according to which the hours of availability at home to which public and private workers are subjected on days of absence due to illness should not only be the same, but they should correspond to “seven hours for everyone”.

According to the president of the National Institute of Social Security "it makes no sense that there are differences between public and private".

But what does the current legislation provide? Based on what has been established, private workers must submit to a availability range equal to 4 hours a day, from 10 to 12 and from 17 to 19, while for public workers the availability is 7 hours, from 9 to 13 and from 15 to 18.

“I believe – said Boeri – that the hours of availability must be harmonized (between public and private, ed) and extended in order to allow checks to be carried out efficiently, to reduce expenses and to better manage doctors. If a person is ill – he added – he will stay at home or in a dedicated facility. It makes no sense that there are differences between public and private”.

In this context, the INPS could take the place of the ASL in the controls on the diseases of public employees. In this way, state and private entities would be under the watchful eye of the same institution. To make this happen, however, the institute “needs additional resources.
