After months and months of conflicts and tensions with the president Tito Boeri, the director general of INPS, Massimo Cioffi has resigned from the social security institution.
At the origin of the clashes that marked INPS was the INPS reorganization plan which envisaged a greater concentration of powers in the hands of the president and a lesser weight of the general manager in the choice of managers. Cioffi never hid his dissent and left after 21 months.
Welfare Minister Poletti has urged Boeri to start the procedures for the appointment of the new general manager of INPS, whose functions will be temporarily exercised by the deputy director, Vincenzo Damato.
