Inps – Merchants: with the contributory 91% of pensions to be cut

The "INPS open doors" operation continues with the information on merchant management - With the recalculation of contributions, 91% of category pensions would suffer a reduction - The ratio of members/pensioners continues to decrease.

91% of pensions in force in merchant management would suffer a reduction if they were recalculated with the contribution system. To say it is the information of "INPS open doors", relating to the social security of members of the Merchant managementi, i.e. the category of commercial activity operators is compulsorily insured with a specific insurance management.

The law extended the compulsory insurance for invalidity, old age and survivors to operators of small commercial enterprises registered in the lists of those entitled to compulsory health insurance, to trade auxiliaries and to other self-employed workers registered in the aforementioned lists as well as their assisting family members (spouse, legitimate and legitimate children and grandchildren in direct line, ascendants, brothers and sisters), who participate in the company work, with a habitual and predominant nature.

Il member/pensioner ratioi hitherto consistently higher than unity, is destined to get significantly worse a medium-long term. In the last five years, the management reports negative economic results exceeding one billion euros. Among the particularities of the sector, the existence of a minimum income on the basis of which contributions must necessarily be paid stands out, even if the actual income, ascertained for tax purposes, is lower than this threshold.

In addition, income contributions are much lower than the total due to the Employees' Pension Fund by employers and workers. Finally, for certain categories of merchants who definitively cease their commercial activity in the period 1 January 2009 - 31 December 2016, the payment of an indemnity equal to the minimum pension is provided upon request.
