Inps, permanent hires: +36% in 6 months

In the first half of 2015, new permanent employment relationships increased in the private sector (+252.177 year on year). In all, there were 952.359 hires, 36% more than in the first half of 2014. Fixed-term contracts, on the other hand, remained substantially stable, while apprenticeship hires decreased (-11.500). This is what the INPS observatory on precariousness reveals.

In the same period, there were 331.917 conversions of fixed-term employment relationships, including those of apprentices, into open-ended contracts. The increase compared to the same period of 2014 is 30,6%. Therefore, the share of hires with stable relationships out of the total employment relationships activated/changed went from 33,6% in the first six months of 2014 to 40,8% in the first half of this year.

"The data released by INPS say that we are on the right track against job insecurity and that the Jobs Act is an opportunity not to be missed, especially for our generation", commented Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

The positive data on work comes just a few hours after the encouraging indications of the its OECD principle, according to which Italy is positioned on a good growth trajectory.
