INPS ANNUAL REPORT - 23,5% of retirees have monthly pensions between one thousand and 1.500 euros, while a further 17,2% between 1.500 and 2.000 euros - Last year, INPS closed its accounts with a red of 12,7 XNUMX billion, but the structural imbalance of the single managements "does not jeopardize the overall sustainability of the system".

Il 42,5% of Italian retirees (equal to over 6,6 million people) receives one or more checks for a gross amount of less than 707 euros per month, while 12,1% remains below 300 euros. 23,5% have monthly pensions between one thousand and 1.500 euros, while a further 17,2% have between 1.500 and 2.000 euros. 12,2% receive between 2 thousand and 3 thousand euros gross while only 724.250 subjects receive more than 3.000 euros. These data are part of a general increase in the number of people below the poverty line, which reached its share in 2014 15 million, or about one in four households. The numbers emerge from INPS annual report, presented today to the Chamber by the president of the Institute, Tito Boeri.

According to the data contained in the document, Italian pensioners receive an average of 1.323 gross euros per month, up from 1.297 in 2013. The ratio between pension expenditure and GDP stood at 16,1% in 2013, remaining almost unchanged compared to 2013.

As for the accounts of the social security institution, last year the economic result was negative by 12,7 billion e the related financial deficit reached 7,8 billion euro, a figure on which the opposite results of the different administered managements weighed. In particular, in the management of the former Inpdap, the imbalance of the local government employee pension fund is approximately 6 billion.

However, the INPS ensures that the annual budget deficit and the structural imbalance of the individual social security managements they do not endanger the sustainability of the entire social security system

In terms of new services, 2014 applications were presented in 1.529.393 for vacuum, the insurance that replaced the unemployment benefit, increasing by 14,6% on the previous year, while the average monthly number of beneficiaries was 652.985 (+78,9% on 2013). In the same period, the expenditure for Aspi's services amounted to 5,7 billion, and 3,8 billion for the notional contribution, against contributions collected equal to 4,6 billion.

Finally, Boeri – who presented today a 5-point pension reform proposal – stressed the need to reform the governance of the Institute, because "any further delay in giving INPS stable governance structures, streamlined decision-making processes and at the same time able to ensure supervision by our main stakeholders, workers and pensioners, can only have repercussions on the quality of services offered to citizens.
