English in Bolzano, the Antitrust investigates

From London to Bolzano, stumbling over bureaucracy. The English holding Hadleigh Partners Ltd, active in the manufacturing, engineering and distribution sectors, came to shop in our country, but forgot to follow the rules. Or rather, it arrived late, announcing a concentration operation only after having carried it out. For this reason, the Antitrust has initiated proceedings against him. For some years, Londoners have been expanding rapidly in the plumbing and heating distribution sector in Eastern Europe.

On February 16, they acquired 100% of Manzardo Spa, a company that deals with the distribution of air conditioning and bathroom furniture products. There are 36 of its stores in northern Italy. According to a separate agreement, the Bolzano-based company will subsequently pass under the direct control of Bourbon Building Materials Ltd, another subsidiary of the Hadleigh group. At the time, Manzardo Spa had welcomed the arrival of the British, from whom they expected a strengthening of the group's consolidation and growth strategy. In 2009 the Italian company recorded a turnover of 149,891 million euros, with an operating loss of -13,851 million. (cm)
