Ing: net income doubled in 2011, but no dividends

Ing closed thefinancial year 2011 with a net profit of 5,77 billion euros, more than doubled compared to 2010. A result achieved above all thanks to the sensational growth in profits in the fourth quarter, which recorded a net profit of 1,18 billion (about eight times greater than that achieved in the same period last year), due in particular to the profitable sale of some branches.

Nonetheless, the Dutch banking and insurance group announced that, due to "the uncertain economic situation", no dividend will be paid.
