Improving the water heritage, to deliver efficient water infrastructure and a sustainable environment to future generations. This is the goal of Viveracqua Hydrobond 2022, the long-term issue worth 148,5 million by six operators in the Viveracqua consortium to which the European Investment Bank, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and Kommunalkredit Austria AG (Kommunalkredit) adhered after the positive results recorded by Viveracqua Hydrobond 2020. The bond issue will support a total investment plan of 350 million euros over the next four years to support the modernization and efficiency of the water infrastructure in the Veneto, which affects over 290 municipalities and about 2,3 million inhabitants who will be able to "benefit from a more modern, efficient infrastructure capable of managing water resources in a sustainable way for the future", underlined Gelsomina Vigliotti, vice president of the EIB . Specifically, interventions are envisaged to improve the sewage networks and purification plants.

Viveracqua Hydrobond 2022 is the fourth financing operation, promoted by Viveracqua and coordinated by Banca Finint, which follows the experiences already gained in 2014 (150 million euros, translated into over 341 million investments made), in 2016 (77 million euros , with construction sites worth more than 197 million) and in 2020 with Viveracqua Hydrobond 2020 (248 million euros, with planned investments of 700 million). Dario Scannapieco, managing director of Cdp, reiterated how "the support to the other financial institutions involved in the bond issue reaffirms the commitment to sustainable development of the country".

Monica Manto, president of Vivercqua declared: "Thanks to this new bond issue, important works to improve sewers and treatment plants in the Veneto and part of Friuli-Venezia Giulia will begin."

While Enrico Marchi, president of Banca Finint recalled how in a historical moment in which attention to the environment is very high, "ensuring that the financial engineering capacity can benefit investments in the efficiency of the water network in the area allows us to play an important role in the sustainability match, in line with objective 6 of theUnited Nations 2030 Agenda".
