New steps on the front of an increase in theinflation in Great Britain and Germany. In the United Kingdom, in fact, the ghosts of deflation are receding due to an excessive appreciation of the pound and in the month of May there is, instead, a inflation rate up 0,2% compared to April and by 0,1% compared to the month of May last year. In the previous month, the comparison with the same period of 2014 had recorded a negative balance of 0,1%.
In Germany in the month of May inflation rose by 0,1% compared to the previous month and of the 0,7% in trend terms. This is the fourth consecutive increase. The harmonized figure, used as a reference by the ECB, records a growth in consumer prices of 0,7% per year.
Both in Germany and in the UK, therefore, the exit from deflation takes on more consistency while in Italy In May, Istat certified an increase of 0,1% both month-on-year and year-on-year.
