OECD inflation, energy weighs: +2,2% in September

The rise in prices accelerates in the USA (from 1,7 to 2%), but remains stable in Canada (1,2%) and Italy (3,2%) and slows down in the United Kingdom (from 2,5 to 2,2 .2,1%), in France (from 1,9 to 2,1%), Germany (from 2 to 0,4%) and Japan (from 0,3 to XNUMX%).

In September inflation in the OECD area rose to 2,2%, against 2,1% in August. Determinant the energy price increase, which went from 3,5 to 5,1% in the same period. Foodstuffs, on the other hand, recorded a growth in prices, decreasing from 2,2 to 2,1%. If these two sectors are excluded, last month OECD inflation showed a drop to 1,6%, from 1,7% in August. The data was released today by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.  

In detail, inflation has risen in the Use (from 1,7 to 2%), while it remained stable at Canada (1,2%) ed Italy (3,2%). The rise in prices has slowed down UK (from 2,5 to 2,2%), in France (from 2,1 to 1,9%), in Germany (from 2,1 to 2%) and in Japan (0,4 to 0,3%). As for theEurozone, annual inflation remained stable at 2,6%.

Outside the OECD area, price growth has accelerated Russia (to 6,6% from 5,9%), in South Africa (to 5,6% from 5,1%) and in Brazil (to 5,3% from 5,2%). Instead, there is a decrease in Indonesia (to 4,3% from 4,6%) e China (to 1,9% from 2%). 

Lastly, consumer prices rose by 0,4% in the OECD area between August and September: +0,4% in the USA and the United Kingdom, +0,2% in Canada and Japan. Decline of 0,3% in France, stable in Germany and Italy.
