Inflation: Istat estimates the average rate for 2013 to drop to 1,3%, the lowest since 2009

For the harmonized index for 2013, Istat estimates an average annual growth rate of 1,3%, with a slowdown of two percentage points compared to 3,3% in 2012 – The growth rate of purchased products also drops more frequently, passing from 4,3% in 2012 to 1,6% in 2013

For the 2013 harmonized index, Istat estimates an average annual growth rate of 1,3%, with a slowdown of two percentage points compared to 3,3% in 2012. 

Looking at the spending divisions, on average in 2013, the institute records slowdowns in the growth of prices for almost all divisions. By type of product, the growth rate of the prices of goods drops to 0,9% from the 3,8% recorded in 2012 and that of services drops to 1,5% from the 2,2% of the previous year. 

The growth rate of the prices of the most frequently purchased products drops to 1,6% from 4,3% in 2012. Smaller decelerations are also found for the prices of medium and low frequency products.
