Inflation is making a makeover. In the basket considered by Istat to calculate consumer prices based on the Nic and Foi indices, 21 new products enter and three leave, bringing the total to 1.447.
New entries include daily online newspapers, grated cheese in packs, spreadable cheese in packs, coffee pods, coffee pod machine, ecological bags for organic waste, large sensor camera, hybrid notebook, electronic cigarette and refills.
The repairs of TV sets (for which household spending is now minimal), organic yoghurt (replaced by probiotics) and women's dresses (replaced by suits) are leaving the basket.
