THEItalian industry 2012 starts very badly. According to the latest Istat data, in January the turnover fell by 4,4% on an annual basis, after the much more encouraging increase of 5,4% recorded in December. The collapse of the first month of the year is the worst since November 2009.
Sul internal market, in particular, there was a heavy -7,1%, while on the foreign market there was an increase of 1,3%. In the comparison on a monthly basis - adds the statistical institute - the turnover had a decrease of 4,9% (after the monthly +3,2% in December), with a -5,2% on the domestic market and a - 4,5% on the foreign one.
As for the orders, the figure drops by 7,4% on the month (seasonally adjusted figure) e by 5,6% on an annual basis (raw data). Also in this case, Istat points out that the downward trend is the worst since October 2009.
