Industry, Istat: prices +4,3% year on year in June

Increase of 0,1% on a monthly basis – Difficult situation also for goods sold abroad, up 0,2% - On all markets, intermediate products drove the index the most – Coke and refined petroleum the sector with the most marked increases.

Industry, Istat: prices +4,3% year on year in June

Italian industrial production costs more and more. In June, prices increased by 0,1% compared to May, while the gap reaches 4,3% on an annual basis. Without considering the energy sector, the increases are equal to 0,1 and 4,1% respectively. These are the latest numbers released by Istat.

So far the data on goods sold in the domestic market. For those marketed abroad, the increase was 0,2% on a quarterly basis (+0,1% for the euro area and +0,3% for the non-euro area) and 3,5% compared in June 2010 (+4% for the Eurozone and +3,2% on the other markets).

Intermediate products made the annual index grow the most in all markets: +2,2% in Italy and for the euro area, +1,3% in countries with different currencies. The manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products is the sector that has recorded the most marked growth in prices on a trend basis, of 14,2% on the domestic market and 20,5% on the foreign market.
