In June, industrial production in Germany increased by 0,3% compared to May, while on an annual basis there was a decrease of 0,5%. The Federal Statistical Office announced it today.
The figure is markedly lower than expected: economists, in fact, had forecast a much more sustained growth on a monthly basis, equal to 1,4%. This is the second disappointing figure in two days from German industry, after yesterday's on orders.
"As expected, the second quarter was weaker, after the first was extraordinarily strong - wrote the German Economy Ministry -, but the fundamental positive trend will continue".
