The turnover of Italian industry decreases in October, and orders also drop. This was revealed by Istat, which estimates that industry revenues fell by 0,5% in economic terms in October. after the zero change of the previous month, while on average for the last three months, the overall index still grows by 0,3% over the previous three months.
Again according to the estimates of the National Institute of Statistics, orders recorded a slight cyclical decrease (-0,3%), but also in this case the average increase over the last three months has been recorded (+0,5%) on the previous three months. Despite the cyclical downturn recorded on a monthly basis - comments Istat - the turnover of industry maintains a profile of moderate growth compared to the last three months with the previous three.
The total orders index also shows a modest increase on a quarterly basis compared to the average level of the May-July period, thanks to the positive contribution of orders from foreign markets. Net of the price component, however, the manufacturing sector shows a cyclical downturn in the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months, continuing the negative trend already recorded in the months of August and September.
