The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) kicked off yesterday at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, introducing a dozen new models to the market for the first time. The focus of this edition, which is expected to attract a record number of 350 visitors, is eco-friendly cars. In particular, the world premiere of Honda's new hybrid sports car model stands out, christened the Honda CR-Z which, after Kemayoran, will take to the stage at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September.
The new Honda CR-Z, which is a refinement of the previous model, has a 1.500cc i-VTEC engine combined with an integrated motor-assisted battery. List price is US$49.500. “In keeping with our 'Racing for blue skies' theme, we are showcasing this model as part of our effort to promote eco-mobility,” explained Honda Prospect Motor Marketing Director, Jonfis Fandy. Other eco-friendly cars on the catwalk will include the Astra Toyota Agya and Astra Daihatsu Ayla. The IIMS will feature hundreds of models created by 35 manufacturers from around the world.
