India, the nationalists win the elections: the stock exchange applauds

The Hindu nationalists of the Bharatiya Janata Party led by Narendra Modi are preparing to win the Indian elections and to oust from power the Congress party, which has led the Asian giant for ten years. The electoral count is nearing completion, but an absolute majority in Parliament seems very close, so much so that the Congress Party itself has already admitted defeat. And the election results were very well received by the Mumbai Stock Exchange, with the S&P BSE Sensex gaining as much as 6,2% and finally closing up 2,2%.

The index, which has gained 6,2% so far this week, was pushed even further today as the election victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party, considered to be a pro-business party, appeared ever closer. The Indian rupee also appreciated against the dollar, paying 58,88 rupees today, compared to 59,29 rupees yesterday.
