Anti-Isis meetings, Hollande sees Renzi and then flies to Putin

The tour of the French president continues, who yesterday received support from Merkel for the mission in Mali, while in the morning he received Renzi at the Elysée with whom relations are a bit cold because the Italian premier insists on the clarity of the objectives and on the need to broaden the anti-ISIS coalition rather than on isolated raids

Anti-Isis meetings, Hollande sees Renzi and then flies to Putin

The diplomatic tour of the President of the French Republic François Hollande continues, as he is currently meeting world leaders to deal with the terrorism emergency. After receiving a visit from Barack Obama and collecting, on the occasion of the meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel, the military support of Germany in Mali to lighten the Paris engagement (with about 650 troops), the Transalpine Head of State received Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi at the Elysée this morning, to then fly to Moscow and go to talks with President Vladimir Putin.

From Renzi Hollande obtained a tepid collaboration: Italy guaranteed maximum participation in the intelligence work and the presence of 150 more soldiers in Lebanon, while on Syria the prime minister reiterated that “one is needed ever-widening coalition leading to the destruction” of Isis, therefore also with the contribution of Russia. The French president is now in Russia: with Putin he will talk about Isis but also about Moscow's relations with Turkey.

Meanwhile in Paris and Brussels we are gradually returning to normal. Schools are reopening in the Belgian capital while the subway will operate partially until Friday. Still unsuccessful searches for terrorist Salah Abdeslam, the main responsible - still alive - of the massacres of November 13 in the French capital.
