The new Redditometer it will serve to flush out the "pretend poor and shameless evasion", the one "deemed most deplorable by common opinion". It will not be used on retirees instead and on all positions with deviations of up to 12 euros a year. The reassurance comes directly from the Revenue Agency, which yesterday issued a stern statement to reply to the controversies that have arisen around the new instrument. The purpose of the Redditometro, which will be used from March, is to compare lifestyles and declared incomes since 2009.
The Agency therefore rails against "certain erroneous press reports", such as the one according to which medical expenses alone will be enough to enroll retirees on the "black list". A false clarification, also because "only pensioners will never be selected".
Instead, taxpayers will end up in the crosshairs who, “while showing a high spending capacity, they declare meager incomes“, they still explain from the Agency. There will be 35 checks every year - as established in the agreement with the Ministry of the Economy - and for this reason they will focus on positions characterized by a real deviation "striking".
In particular, the aim will be to hit people who, by defrauding the tax authorities, even benefit from "welfare benefits denied to others who may have a more modest standard of living".
