Fonsai investigation, Ligresti's daughter asks for a plea bargain

Giulia Maria Ligresti has asked to leave the Fondiaria Sai investigation, for which she was arrested and imprisoned in the Vercelli prison, negotiating a prison sentence. Her proposal, which dates back to a few weeks ago, will be discussed in September. Her sister, Jonella, was arrested together with Giulia Maria, while her father, Salvatore Ligresti, is under house arrest. His brother Paolo Gioacchino, recipient of a custody order, is in Switzerland.

In the Vercelli prison where she has been held since 17 July due to the developments in the Fondiaria investigation, Giulia Ligresti is in a state of profound prostration and refuses food. The operators sent a report to the judicial offices of Turin certifying that her psychophysical conditions are incompatible with detention. From her prison it is said that Giulia eats almost nothing and that she often cries about her, calculating her days while waiting for the visits of her children, her adults, and her husband. Now further requests for information on the situation have come from the prosecutor led by Gian Carlo Caselli.
