From 12 September the sixth edition of "Life after oil" touches various cities. More than 600 works presented. The island grappling with political decisions on its energy future.

In Sardinia there are those who want nothing to do with fossil energy sources. The committees and associations do not miss opportunities to make themselves heard and block the projects of new energy infrastructures that the island needs instead. The festival is supported by the Sardegna Film Commission Foundation which this year reached the record of 612 registered works and 567 selected from 67 countries. The social value oriented towards the sustainability of the territories also involved two schools of Santa Teresa and San Pasquale which present works out of competition. Initiatives such as “Life After Oil” are welcome – he explained the Mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu. They give us the opportunity to stop and reflect and to plan a future that can ignore fossil fuels. Cagliari is hosting the first phase of the festival and wants to give the utmost importance to these issues. It cannot escape, however, that the artistically treated topics also have a political content.
