In Europe 400 jihadists ready to strike (also in Italy)

Four hundred fighters trained and sent to Europe, ready to strike "autonomously", choosing places, times and methods of attack. The alarm comes from the Associated Press which cites authoritative European and Iraqi security sources: it would be "interconnected" cells, like those that operated in Paris and Brussels, unleashed in many of the countries of the Old Continent, including Italy.

This army of foreign fighters, scattered throughout Europe, would be led by Francophones with ties to North Africa, France and Belgium. As sources of the news AP cites anonymously some European officials and an Iraqi secret service manager, in addition to the French MP Nathalie Goulet, which monitors jihadist networks. Before being killed in a police raid, one of the leaders of the November 13 attacks in Paris claimed that a multinational group of about ninety fighters, dispersed "more or less all over the world", had entered Europe.

The head of Iraqi intelligence under protection of anonymity had declared that the 400 jihadists are scattered between Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden. Recently a new group crossed into Türkiye, again according to the official. La Goulet is a senator and member of the commission of inquiry into jihadist networks in Europe in France.
