With closed markets, Moody's is expected to pronounce on Spain's sovereign rating, which is currently rated Baa2 with a stable outlook.

However, the banking sector remains the focus of attention. Unicredit is down by 1,19%, at 12,48 euros. Today is the last day available to trade the option right on the stock exchange, which changes hands at 11,03 euros. The capital increase in progress provides for the allocation of 13 ordinary shares at a price of 8,09 euro each for every 5 option rights exercised.

The other banks are also down: Understanding -0,3% Bpm bank -0,7%. Mediobanca lose 1,9%, Pop. Emily -2,4%. FinecoBank +0,4%: Citigroup raised the target price to 6,9 euro from 6,5 euro, confirmed the Buy rating.

The speculative appeal is extinguished Generali (-0,3%). The company has no "preclusions" in examining a possible offer also from Intesa Sanpaolo, said Gabriele Galateri of Genola.

The German Allianz gains 2,4%: the leading European insurance group announced a 2016 profit of 6,9 billion euros, up 4%.
