Bank shares rise on the stock market

Ascending phase for Ubi, Intesa and Unicredit, after difficult days - Milan in a cautious recovery, with the technology sector in difficulty - Stm is containing losses for the moment

Waiting session this morning in the European markets, awaiting the data on the trend of orders for durable goods in America which will probably dictate the direction of march on Wall Street. In the meantime, Piazza Affari reports a cautious recovery (+0,3%) also thanks to the performance of Fiat (+3,4%), rewarded by the news of the forthcoming consolidation of Chrysler's accounts. On the contrary, after the profit warning of Applied Materials, the leading group in the production of machinery for chips, the technological sector is slowing down (-0,4% the Soxx index) even if Stm limits the loss to 0,1 per hundred.

The sovereign debt emergency continues to weigh on the euro, which has lost ground against the dollar and is trading at 1,407 (against 1,410), but not on the banks, which are clearly recovering after two difficult days. Intesa, in particular, achieved a recovery of 2,5%, followed by Ubi (+2,4%) and Unicredit (+1,6%).
