Imu postponed to September, but the decree is postponed to Sunday

The Government has decided to postpone the payment of the Imu advance on the first house from June to September need refinance the redundancy fund by way of derogation. The provision will be approved in the form of a decree law in the next few days, "in order to define the technical methods, while guaranteeing in any case that the Municipalities do not find themselves in a cash deficit". This was communicated by the Executive at the end of yesterday evening's Council of Ministers.

"The urgent measures - continues the note - will make it possible to meet immediate deadlines and ensure the necessary time to proceed with a structural reform of both the property tax system and that of social safety nets".

Furthermore, the same decree “will contain the elimination of the salary for members of the government with parliamentarian status and the expectation of using the sums saved to partially cover the refinancing of the Cig". An intervention that overall could require 1,8 billion.

The Minister of Economy, Fabrizio Saccomanni, he explained yesterday evening to Otto e mezzo that an agreement would be reached in the government to approve the postponement of the IMU (which, however, will not concern buildings and industrial warehouses) and to redefine the matter concerning the taxation of real estate within 100 days of the expiry date of the first installment”, but it is still necessary to deepen some technical aspects.

The minister then confirmed that the approval will come in a CDM convened for Sunday, which should take place in the government retreat in the Spineto abbey. Saccomanni however clarified that “some form of taxation on real estate will have to remain. It exists all over Europe”.

Not exactly what the PDL was asking for (i.e. the total abolition of the IMU on first homes and the return of the sums paid in 2012), yet Silvio Berlusconi seems satisfied: "The government has blocked next month's IMU payment as the first decree of June – said the Knight -. It's a great victory, a great satisfaction, but that's not enough”.

According to the leader of the PDL, "the other measures are urgently needed: from the financing of the Cig, to the revision of the powers and methods of Equitalia, so that it abandons the violent collections and dilutes the payments in several installments and does not confiscate either the first house or the agricultural land, nor the machinery of small businesses. And then we need tax reform to abolish Irap on businesses in 5 years, with a cut of 2% of the 800 billion which is the annual cost of the state machinery to introduce Irap and introduce the quotient familiar for large families.
