Imu, no to extension: tax returns, Irap and unified declaration postponed

Extension yes, extension no. It depends on the tax. But the most hated and incalculable of all, the Imu, will arrive on time like a bell tolling. There is no escaping that deadline: the advance on the single municipal tax must be paid by Monday 18 June, and so be it (click here to find out how much you have to pay, click here for a guide to compiling the simplified F24).

“I don't understand the question,” the number two of the Treasury replied today, Victor Grilli, to those who asked him if there was still a slightest hope of seeing the new tax on the house postponed. “We did what we had to do for the IMU – he added -. We intervened”, but “the interventions in the areas affected by the earthquake are one thing. Other things right now…”.

Grilli, speaking on the sidelines of the annual conference of young entrepreneurs of Confindustria, recalled that there have already been enough regulatory actions on the new tax: "We have passed laws on the IMU, we have already had all the parliamentary discussions, we have confirmed the three possible tranches".

As it regards instead tax returns, Irap and unified declaration, we can take it a little more comfortable. We will have about twenty more days: the deadline for these payments passes from 18 June to 9 July. The green light to the extension came with the signature of the President of the Council of Ministers.

The postponement will benefit professionals and holders of business income subject to sector studies. Those who need even more time will be able to settle their accounts with the Treasury by paying taxes by 10 20 to August, but in this case will have to pay a 0,40% surcharge by way of interest.
