In November, Italian companies pulled the handbrake with regard to the job application. As for individual sectors, mechanical and electronic industries expect to activate 2.300 fewer contracts by November than in the same period last year, while the food industries, affected by the entry into force of US tariffs, will activate 1.600 fewer contracts.

Despite this picture with more shadows than lights, the difficulty of finding it remains high (31% of the profiles sought), also because the growing competition pushes companies to adopt increasingly selective criteria in the search for professional profiles. In particular, the difficulty of finding mainly concerns workers with professional qualifications (36,4%) and university graduates (35,9%).

In general, the share of sought-after graduates out of total revenue is growing (going from 12,8% in November 2018 to 14,4% in November 2019) to such an extent that, despite an overall negative balance of 5.000 entries, the with degrees they record a positive balance of 4.979 admissions. In particular, there are about 1.600 more graduates in the various engineering fields sought in the month of November and almost 700 more contracts for "doctors" in teaching and training disciplines.
